Details

A wall-mounted garden hose reel that retracts on its own so the hose stays off the lawn and out of walkways.

The swivel base pivots to follow you around the yard without kinking, from the tomatoes to the hydrangeas to the dog's water bowl, then guides the hose back with an easy tug.

Why we love it

  • Auto-retract — the hose rolls itself back, so cleanup takes seconds
  • Swivel wall mount — pivots to follow you around the yard without kinking
  • Wall-mounted footprint — keeps the hose off the lawn and out of walkways
  • Built for outdoor use — designed to live on an exterior wall through the seasons
  • Grey finish — quiet, neutral tone that blends with siding and brick

Specs

  • Type: retractable garden hose reel
  • Mounting: wall-mounted with swivel base
  • Color: grey
  • Use: outdoor garden and yard watering

Common questions

Does it really retract on its own?
Yes. Once you release the hose, the internal spring guides it back onto the reel automatically.

Can I mount it on any exterior wall?
It's designed for solid exterior walls like wood siding, brick, or stucco. We recommend anchoring into studs or masonry for a secure hold.

Will the swivel let me reach across the yard?
The base pivots so the hose follows you as you move, which reduces kinks and makes it easier to water beds on either side of the mount.

30' Hose Reel I Ordered Blind

I got this thing having only seen a picture of it, but not knowing any of the specs because there was not yet a product page. I also don't know what the selling price will be, so I'll just tell you my impressions. Important to note is that I have four other hose reels (three models) by one of the most highly rated brands, so if I'm nitpicking, it's only because I'm comparing it to what is probably the best and most expensive model to compare it to. 1) I know it is a branding thing, but I don't love the orange color in the garden. It's not a garden color. That said, it folds at 90 degrees on its bracket, so you can position the color away from you to some degree (see pic). 2) I noticed right off the bat that the hose itself is not the same material. It is less flexible and more likely to kink (you can sort of see that in the pic as well). And it smells very manufactured (like a lot of VOCs) when you first open it, but that doesn't matter because it goes outside. I think the hose is 1/2" or even less in diameter. The flow rate is slightly slower than my others. 3) It is 30' long hose, and the container is smaller because of this and the hose diameter. The small size is helpful, and it's great if you only need 30'. I know other common sizes are 50' and ~80'. 4) The sprayer is decent, but I really wish it had a "soaker" function like some. It has all the other normal sprayer patterns. It is plastic, which is fine. The other fancy brands come with plastic as well, and actually - those don't have all the spray patterns, and I've replaced those completely. 5) It does not come with quick connect fittings, which the other ones do, and I've learned to love them. I've made it a point to buy extra so all my connections have them (and I made sure to get ones that are interchangeable). This also allows me to remove the hose sprayers and add a sprinkler when needed. (in my experience, when you change out screw fittings too often, you are more likely to get leaks unless you continuously replace the rubber washers). I like to also have the quick connect fittings where it connects to the spigots so that I can blow them out with compressed air before winter as well. 6) The other units I have come with a mount, and then the hose reel slides into that and a padlock can be added if desired. This one is a fixed bracket with two "keyholes", where you drive the screws first and then push this onto them and down, at which point it requires a stubby screwdriver if you want to make it tighter. OK, so you can see from my list above that this doesn't have all the premium features of some of the others available, but I'm guessing the price will reflect this. That said, I still love it. In the location shown in my pic, I hadn't bothered with a hose reel since I don't need a long hose there, but the coiled hose I had there before was really annoying me and it was also in my way of getting between the garage and the fence (one of the other reels here would also be too large and block my movement). So this is a game changer for my particular situation. Definitely worth considering if 30' meets your needs. Read more

Amazing

Works great, no need to handled the hose anymore. Pull it out. Clicks stop. Pull a little it’s retractable. Boom, clean, out of the way. Very easy to install. My pictures shows the views and hanging bracket easy to remove for winter storage. Worth every penny.

How to care for your piece

Care guide

How to care for your piece

  1. Mount at hip height

    Mount at hip height

Anchor the bracket to a stud or masonry near your spigot, roughly 4 ft off the ground so the swivel arm clears shrubs and the hose feeds straight down. Use the included lag bolts — drywall anchors alone will pull out under a full retract.

  2. Hook up leader hose

    Hook up leader hose

Thread the short leader from the reel to your outdoor faucet with a rubber washer inside the coupling, then hand-tighten plus a quarter turn with pliers. Turn the water on and check both ends for drips before you walk away.

  3. Test the auto-coil

    Test the auto-coil

Pull the hose out 10–15 ft, let it lock, then give a short tug to release and walk it back at a steady pace so the layer-winder tracks evenly. Never let go mid-retract — a whipping brass nozzle will chip siding or catch an ankle.

  4. Drain after each use

    Drain after each use

Shut the spigot, squeeze the nozzle trigger to bleed pressure, then let the reel pull the empty hose in. Standing water breeds mildew inside the coil and freezes into splits by November.

  5. Winterize and unmount

    Winterize and unmount

Before the first hard freeze, disconnect the leader, blow the hose out with low-PSI air or gravity-drain it on a slope, and lift the reel off its bracket into the garage. Left outside through a US winter, the internal spring and plastic housing crack within one season.
