Prep The Liner
Drop the removable liner in, confirm both drainage holes are clear, and slide a shallow saucer or drip tray underneath if you're on a wood deck. Add an inch of gravel or broken terracotta over the holes to keep soil from washing out.
Plant At Hand Height
Fill with lightweight potting mix (not garden soil) to about an inch below the rim, then set herbs or trailing petunias so their crowns sit level with the soil. Water slowly until it drips from the holes, then stop.
Water And Feed Weekly
Check moisture with a finger two inches down — water when dry, usually every 2–3 days in summer heat. Feed with a half-strength liquid fertilizer once a week since raised planters leach nutrients faster.
Winterize And Store
