Care guide
How to care for your piece
Unbox and inspect
Remove the drain spring from packaging and run your fingers along the coil to check for snags or bent barbs. Wipe it down with a damp cloth before first use.
Prep the drain
Pop out the drain stopper or strainer and lay an old towel around the opening to catch gunk. Put on rubber gloves — what comes up is not pretty.
Snake and hook
Feed the coil straight down until you feel resistance, then twist the handle a few full turns to catch hair around the barbs. Pull up slowly and steadily so the clog comes out in one piece instead of breaking off.
Rinse and disinfect
Drop the clog straight into the trash, then scrub the coil under hot water with dish soap and an old toothbrush. Spray with diluted bleach or vinegar, rinse, and shake dry.
Store and repeat monthly
Hang it by the handle loop in a garage or under-sink cabinet — never coiled up wet in a drawer, or the steel will rust. Run it through each drain once a month to stop clogs before they build up.
